In this build project, the initial design was done by another designer. The original design contained glass and tiles and other reclaimed materials bedded in concrete in the segments. I was concerned that these could look quite junky, be too rough underfoot and be difficult to source. After discussion, we settled on two contrasting types of flat pebbles in concrete with walls constructed of granite setts. The pebbled, walled area was shrunk in the process as they wanted more border than the original design provided.
Installing the pebbles was time consuming and our clients assisted us in this part of the build.
We are all thrilled with the result, and it is such a vast improvement on the previous garden layout.
