Dry Shade Border – Nettleton

Dry shade presents a challenge for planting. This area was found to be heavy shale under the existing gravel. For the build, we opted to create a raised area using timber sections which were available on site, along with the raised inner tier seen in the design.

Planting consists of evergreen heats-tongue fern, sledges and cyclamen, complemented by deciduous ferns, columbine, pulmonaira, anenomies, geraniums and sweet cicely. Foxgloves have populated the border since planting.
